Dynamic Earth explores the inner workings of Earth’s climate system, following a trail of energy that flows from our Sun into the interconnected systems that create our climate. You’ll ride on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and whales and fly into fiery volcanoes!

 

This project was supported by the United Arts Council of Catawba County through the North Carolina Arts Council, with funding from the State of North Carolina.

 

 

 

 

 

Wednesday, and Thursday at 2:30 p.m., Friday at 3:30 p.m., and Saturday at 1:30 p.m.


S.E.T.I. – The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence – is a show that explores all sides of this topic, from the planets we are finding around other stars, to the feasibility of traveling to the stars, and what aliens might actually be like, to the possibility that UFOs have been visiting and the various methods that scientists are using to get in touch. Will we make contact in our lifetimes? This stunning immersive show guides you through the myriad of ideas to a surprising conclusion.

Fridays at 2:30 p.m.

Daytime laser shows are included in CSC General Admission, on a first-come, first-seated basis.

About the Millholland Planetarium
Planetarium faked-thirdThe Millholland Planetarium opened in 2007. This theater features full-dome digital technology – MediaGlobe II, created by Konica-Minolta of Japan – and a powerful surround sound system to truly transport audiences beyond the confines of Earth. Visitors will be immersed in giant-screen, 30-foot dome images of the surface of the Sun, Mars, nearby galaxies and beyond. Features include Seasonal Stargazing and topical presentations. Explore the rings of Saturn, massive black holes, volcanoes, ocean depths, the human body and more. All shows are double features, which include a main feature and a look at the seasonal night sky.
