CSC's Annual Dinner & Auction is an evening of dancing, dining, live and silent auctions, games, and more! First held in 1986, as "The Italian Dinner" this event is CSC's largest fundraiser. Its success is tied to the generous donations and auction items from members and businesses throughout our community. Now in its 38th year, CSC's Annual Dinner & Auction is organized and coordinated by the Catawba Science Center Guild a group of passionate individuals who help with CSC's fundraising projects.
Doors open a few hours before dinner for guests to enjoy themed games to win prizes, get drinks, and bid on silent auction items. Dinner is served in the ballroom and typically includes wine, salad, entrée, bread, and dessert followed by a live auction and entertainment! Our live auction items range from travel excursions to orthodontics. During the dinner guests can participate in popular games such as Heads or Tails by purchasing a "Blinky Light". Each year Catawba Science Center highlights an internal project that needs particular attention called Fund-A-Cause. The Fund-A-Cause project for 2024 will focus on funding the return of CSC’s FlutterBy Butterfly Habitat, raising the necessary funds to bring back this local favorite.

Each year the Guild curates a wide variety of donations from businesses in the community to auction off online as part of our Annual Fundraiser. This online "silent auction" is now OPEN for anyone to log in and bid on items. Be sure to check in on your bids to see how you're doing on bids. You may only pick up your winnings in person from CSC Wed. through Fri. from 9 am – 5 pm beginning Wed April 2. We will not be able to ship any items.
In 27 years of television news, Molly worked at ABC, NBC, and CBS affiliates. She has appeared on CNN, Today Show, CBS News, the CBS Morning Show, in Huffington Post, and People Magazine. Her social media is its own channel, with a combined 200,000+ followers. One of Molly's four Emmys was for changing state law to help sick children. She was also embedded in both a National Guard unit and a federal gang task force. And, she's a mom of three young kids. She knows how to get people to pay attention.

What a wonderful place to visit! Great environment to learn and the staff is very helpful! Hickory is lucky to have great family education and entertainment.
This place was great. We have kids from 8 to 1 and they all had a great time. What I really liked is most of the exhibits are hands on and that really kept them occupied.
Took the kiddos and they loved it. Employees were nice and helpful. If your looking for something to do with the kids give this place a shot.
We love the Science Center! I take my 2 and 4 year old boys weekly to play and enjoy the exhibits. The staff are wonderful and the classes offered are excellent! We are so blessed to have such an amazing resource in our area.
Fabulous and I don’t often give praise. We took our grandson and were there for hours. He loved it and so did we.
