Catawba Science Center is happy to present a series of engaging, educational programs to inspire young scientists. The Itty Einstein Science Time is open to all children ages 3-5 and their caregivers.
Classes will be held in the West Education Building, adjacent to the main Arts and Science Center Building, in classroom 1 on Thursdays from 10:00am to 11:00am. Preschoolers get their hands dirty and their minds piqued by exploring simple science concepts through play, crafts, and demonstrations!
Non-Members: $15 per child
Members: $10 per child
Accompanying adults are free
Pre-payment and registration are required to reserve your space, which is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The maximum number of students for this program is 15. Any registrations received after the 15 available spaces will be put on a wait list.
This cost does not include admission to the Catawba Science Center. Refunds will NOT be issued for missed classes.

Roar into a hands-on Paleontology adventure to discover the ancient survival secrets of the dinosaurs. Explore their incredible defenses that allowed them to survive for so long. Learn what teeth, claws, and footprints can tell us about a dino. |

Let your little one’s curiosity shine as we dive into the ocean’s deepest secrets. Come discover what life is like at the sea floor. We’ll “meet” the specialized creatures that call this place home. |

Build on your child’s curiosity as we study shapes as the basic building blocks of engineering. We’ll solve problems, explore shapes, and build. |

Elevate your child’s wonder in our flight lab as we discover the science behind air and flight. Our interactive adventure will transform complex aerodynamics into kid-friendly play. |

Spread your wings and explore the feathered world with us at CSC. We’ll investigate a beak buffet, egg variations, and what makes birds so special. |

You and your little scientist are lab partners in a wonderful water adventure. Dive into the physics of water density and surface tension. Make some bubbly breakthroughs. |
Fabulous and I don’t often give praise. We took our grandson and were there for hours. He loved it and so did we.
Took the kiddos and they loved it. Employees were nice and helpful. If your looking for something to do with the kids give this place a shot.
What a wonderful place to visit! Great environment to learn and the staff is very helpful! Hickory is lucky to have great family education and entertainment.
This place was great. We have kids from 8 to 1 and they all had a great time. What I really liked is most of the exhibits are hands on and that really kept them occupied.
We love the Science Center! I take my 2 and 4 year old boys weekly to play and enjoy the exhibits. The staff are wonderful and the classes offered are excellent! We are so blessed to have such an amazing resource in our area.
